Workshop Controller

About the role

TalentEx Employment Group, an automotive recruitment business, is looking for a Workshop Controller for a full-time, on-site role in Castle Hill, NSW. You will be the person who keeps the workshop organised, so jobs run on schedule and customers know what is happening with their vehicles.

About the role

As Workshop Controller, you will sit between the service desk, the technicians and the customer. Your job is to make sure the right work goes to the right person at the right time, and that nothing gets lost along the way.

• Allocate and schedule jobs across the workshop to match technician skills and available capacity
• Monitor job progress through the day and adjust the workflow when delays or extra work come up
• Liaise with technicians, service advisors and parts staff to keep jobs moving
• Follow up on parts availability and delivery times that affect job completion
• Keep customers and service staff updated on progress and expected completion times
• Check completed work, paperwork and job cards before vehicles are released
• Keep workshop records accurate and help maintain safe, tidy work areas

What you'll need

• Previous experience in a workshop controller, service coordinator or similar automotive role
• Good understanding of automotive workshop processes and job flow
• Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to prioritise under pressure
• Clear communication skills for working with technicians, staff and customers
• Comfortable using workshop or dealership management software
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Full working rights in Australia — no visa sponsorship offered
